Large scale,

Hand rendered.

Combining a lifetime passion for maritime architecture and large scale, hand rendered illustrations of historic and contemporary passenger vessels. Each drawing is developed through dimentional research, close study of vessel design language and careful scale calculation.

The aim is to build an evolving visual archive of passenger ship design, since the dawn of the Ocean liner to the modern day megaship; Preserving their distinctive character and exploring the structures & spaces that define them.

Alongside individual elevational illustrations, I am developing a series of cross sectional studies that extend this work into architectural technical documentation.

The fleet so far

Drawn between November 2024 - April 2025

269cm in length

Illustrated from a life long passion for the subject. Titanic continues to be the inspiration behind my work.

With over 20 years of studying the ship and her history, drawing Titanic has been a constant practice. This is my latest and largest attempt. A true statement of the portfolio.

Paddle Steamer Waverley 1:50 scale

Drawn between November 2024 - January 2026

147cm in length

PS Waverley is a true legend of Scotland. In 2026 she celebrates her 80th anniversary and so I marked the occasion by illustrating her at 1:50 scale.

The design of a paddle steamer is vastly different to a modern cruise ship. Extensive research and many hours went into the paddlewheel configuration alone. Working at a 1:50 scale was a whole new challenge within itself. However, it was the best option to ensure topmost accuracy to detail.

Waverley Excursions hava adopted this illustration as their official 80th anniversary logo. It is a true honour to have my work selected by them.

AIDAblu 1:200 scale

Drawn between November 2025 - December 2025

126.5cm in length

AIDAblu is a stunning example of modern cruise ship design language. Her bright colurs, large central theatrum and iconic eye and lip design by Feliks Buttner made for a compelling project in this scale.

MSC Fantasia 1:200 scale

Drawn between May 2025- April 2026

166.5cm in length

MSC Fantasia is a classic example of modern crusie ship design. Sleek, Minimalist and Structured. A total of four drafts in three different scales were drawn before I put pencil to paper for this final edition. With over 600 balcony cabins to get drawn, I learnt an awful lot about patience and control with this project.

I am continuing the exploration of MSC Fantasia further with a second edition illustration, with cross sectional windows into the ship cuurrently in progress.
